Distracted Life-ing!

Many things serve as distractions to our walk with God! This is not a new idea to anyone who has spent even a short amount of time near a church or pastor who stays true to the word. Most of us can agree on this theme, however, what often evades us is the fact that not all distractions are destructive in nature! What I mean by this is yes, certainly pornography, lust, envy, stress, and worry are destructive distractions but what about food??? Some may have never even considered this truth!! However If you look in your bible at John 4 Jesus is sharing the great story of the "living water" in order to explain salvation to this woman at the well! After this beginning in vs 31 the disciples urge Jesus to eat and he reminds them that his food is to do the will of the Father!! Food in and of itself is not a bad thing however even food, which is necessary for life and sustenance, is secondary to the will of the father which in this instance was to share the great message of salvation to all! The same should be our message to all nations! However we too are met with an onslaught of distractions ourselves not all of which are evil in nature until they are used to distract our hearts from God!! Another example would be cell phones, so helpful however equally helpful in distracting our focus away from God and his Word!

I pray that, as the body of Christ, you and I will help one another seek God's face always and that the posture of our hearts will always be Psalm 40:16

"But may all who seek you rejoice and be glad in you; may those who love your salvation say continually, "Great is the Lord !" Psalms 40:16 ESV
